The Eastwood Company is an automotive restoration solution provider headquartered in Pennsylvania, USA. The company provides DIY customers with the tools, know-how, educational videos, and technical experience to assist them in their automobile restoration projects.
The company knows that car enthusiasts put a lot of work into their rides and want to show off the results. And so, they organized their second Virtual Car Show as a way to keep customers motivated until warmer weather comes and they can attend car shows in person.
With this action, Eastwood gathered valuable UGC and increased brand awareness and product visibility while engaging its audience both in the entry and voting stages of their competition in this 100% in-house planned, managed, and executed campaign.

Founded in 1978, Eastwood celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2023. Offering a wide variety of products, including welders, metal fabrication, paints, powders, and even in-house developed items, Eastwood provides its customers with the tools and skills to help them do the job right.

Eastwood’s Virtual Car Show contest
In 2024 Eastwood organized its third anual virtual car show, an edition that saw the highest levels of participation so far. When asked about how the organizers came up with the idea for the campaign, Mike Ridge the creative manager of Eastwood replied: “The main goal of the promotion was to get car enthusiasts excited about showing off the car. Our audience ranges from 16 to 90 years old, from professional builders to small shops to DIYers.”

The contest consisted of two stages. During the first stage, participants submitted photos and videos of their car restoration projects and mentioned which Eastwood products had been used to achieve the result. This resulted not only in the organizers gathering high-quality UGC but also promotion of their products and customer feedback.
The second stage was the voting stage. Participants who had submitted a project could use the “share” buttons in the promotion link to invite their friends and family to vote. The organizers shared the contest by email, Facebook, Instagram, Retail Stores, and website, making it possible for anyone to participate and vote for their favorite project. Unlike the previous edition that offered gift cards as prizes, this year they opted for custom trophies so the winners could show off to family and friends.
The solution: Voting Contest app to showcase participating projects and Eastwood products
In this edition of Eastwood’s Virtual Car Show, the company opted for the Voting Contest app. The organizer kept the process simple to encourage a lot of people to participate and the winners of the contest were elected by popular vote. The Easypromos anti-fraud voting system ensured that all votes were valid, that there were no repeated votes, or to prevent votes cast by bots. This is a particularly useful feature when the winners of a contest are chosen solely by popular vote as it keeps the contest fair and protects the organizing brand’s reputation.
We asked Mike if they had faced any challenges during the Virtual Car Show contest and he replied: “We monitored our channels, and no one had challenges using the Easypromos tool, which was a huge positive.”
The Eastwood company had been using Easypromos regularly for 4 years at the time of the promotion, mostly organizing recurring and seasonal Entry Form Giveaways.

Results of Eastwood's Virtual Car Show campaign
- The 2024 campaign racked over 150 vehicle entries, averaging between three to five photographs and videos.
- The link to the promotion was shared by users across multiple networks, the majority through Facebook.
- Over 500 pictures and videos of UCG showing the participating vehicles.
- A successful campaign, where the promotion had hundreds of direct interactions, all managed seamlessly through Easypromos.
